4.5 stars for After the Quake!

For many people, Murakami needs no introduction.
He's a literary genius who thrives on surprising symbols, uncanny imagery, and hints of illusion in his writing that take you on a journey so real that the bonfires in his stories actually feel warm, and the winters, biting cold.

His themes weave deep thought with simple subject-matter. sometimes existentialist, sometimes just playful- Murakami delights with EVERY paragraph. It's sheeeeeeeeer joy, I tell you!

I have once again been swept away by the words and inimitable imagination of Haruki Murakami, a student of life and master of his craft. Cheers to another great work! or in my sister's words, "another flower for the garden of literature."
